Your DNA sample collection kits will arrive within 3 to 5 business days of your purchase, with detailed instructions. First, register your kit online. Then gently rub your cheek with the provided cotton swabs for about 15-20 seconds, detach its head into the vial, and close it. Repeat with you other cheek. Drop both vial in the sample collection bag provided (matching barcodes) and seal the bag. Repeat the whole operation with each person you want to test. Gather all the sealed sample collection bags, mail them in the CRI Paternity prepaid package.
Within 24 hours, a CRI Paternity customer service representative will call you to book your DNA collection appointment. We will find a collection site near you and send them your collection kit. In order to maintain chain of custody, we must mail a kit directly to the collection site. Make sure all parties (child and parent tested) can show up at the appointment or book multiple days. On the day of your appointment, bring the adults’ photo ID (driver’s license or passport) and your child’s birth certificate and a recent photograph. A DNA specialist will collect your DNA samples by gently rubbing the inside of your cheeks at the collection site. He will then send your samples and chain-of-custody paperwork directly to CRI Paternity testing lab.
Your samples will be analysed at our secure, USA-based, CLIA-certified, state-of-the art lab, using the most advanced DNA analysis software on the market. We will compare 642,824 genetic markers in all your samples, allowing us to give you the most accurate results.

"My baby’s dad passed away before he could sign the “Acknowledgment of Paternity.” Once she was born, we tested her against her dad’s parents’ DNA and confirmed their filiation. I know it will give her peace of mind when she’s old enough to understand." - Jane
"My wife and I had issues when we got pregnant and I wasn’t never sure I was the dad. CRI Paternity ended my constant questioning assuring me my son and I are related." - Mark
"My daughter and I never looked alike so, when her mom and I separated, I decided to take a CRI Paternity test. I would never renounce to my parental rights so I chose the non-legal test. Unfortunately, I ended up not being her biological father. It doesn’t change the way I love her, but it did make me feel better about leaving her mother." - Dwayne
"I was adopted and never knew my biological parents. Being a mother myself, I needed to know where I was coming from. I took CRI Genetics Ancestry Test first and learned a lot about my biological family. But I wanted more. I found my biological parents last year. It took me several months to contact them. They were teens when I was conceived and I understand why they put me up for adoption. We all took the CRI Paternity test together, just to be sure we were related. They are my biological parents, our DNAs proved it. I’ll never call them Mom and Dad, but I’m glad we are in each other’s life now." - Marie
"My ex-girlfriend and I weren’t exclusive. After we broke up, she told me she was pregnant with my baby. I didn’t want to believe her without proof. Once the baby was born, we got tested with a CRI Paternity legal test. I am not the father and I am extremely happy about it. I wasn’t ready to be a father. And if my ex goes after my money, I’ll be able to fight it in Court." - Justin
"My dad cheated on my mom a lot, she always stayed. Both of them passed when I was 19 and I had no other family. I found out recently that my dad had a kid when I was still a child. We met and got tested. We are half-siblings. Even if it hurts to think how my dad treated my mom, I have family and that’s all I ever wanted." - Aurora
"When I decided to divorce my wife, she was angry and revengeful. She said I’d never see my son again, that I wasn’t even his dad. The thought hurt so much I decided to get tested. I am his dad, she can’t deny it anymore. And I can officially prove it thanks to the CRI paternity legal test I took. I’m fighting for custody and confident in my chances. Thanks to CRI Paternity, I am at peace." - Colin
"I had difficulties bonding with my twins at first. Their mother and I were fighting a lot. I still believe she cheated sometime around the pregnancy, even if she’s always denied it. Twins don’t run in any of our families and I was only one step away from thinking my kids were not actually mine. My brother pushed me to get tested, saying that whatever the results were, knowing with certainty would help me. And he was right. CRI Paternity confirmed that I was my twins’ dad and our relationship changed since then. Being certain I am their dad made me a better father." - Vincent
"My wife and I are African-American but our daughter looked mixed-race from the day she was born. She even has blue eyes when none of us does. I didn’t want to doubt my wife’s fidelity but I didn’t understand how it was possible. She offered to take a family DNA test, so I would be more at ease. Within a few weeks, CRI Paternity confirmed I was my daughter’s biological father. But I was still confused on how she could look so different than us. We went back on the website and saw we could upgrade for Ancestry reports, without taking the test a second time. We did it and now, it make sense. Both my wife and I have some European ancestors. She is 9.2% Irish, I am 11.9% German. Our daughter received both heritage." - Cameron
CRI Paternity is a branch of CRI Genetics. Our researchers are renowned and internationally published Geneticists, Anthropologists, and Social Scientists. They combined their expertise to give you the most accurate paternity analysis available today. When you choose CRI Paternity DNA tests, you choose expertise and accuracy. Our results come with the guarantee of quality and peace of mind.
We partner with more than 1,000 collection laboratories in the USA—for legal tests—, so you can have your samples collected conveniently. Your chosen lab will directly mail your sample to CRI Paternity Testing Lab, to ensure the chain-of-custody is fully respected, and your results Court-admissible.
We hold a Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act (CLIA) certification that regulates our laboratory testing and allows us to accept human samples for diagnostic testing. In the laboratory, CLIA quality assurance involves the entire testing process: pre-analytical, analytical (testing), and post-analytical processes.
Some DNA testing laboratories examine 16 to 20 genetic markers “at no additional cost”, like they proudly say. Then they give you your results back within a day… Our internationally acclaimed DNA specialists will review and compare all the 642,824 genetic markers essential to give you a definite answer. This might take a few weeks—3 to 8 weeks—but CRI Paternity offers the MOST ACCURATE results on the market. And we guarantee that you will receive your results within 8 weeks or you’ll get your money back.
Though verifying the relationship between an alleged father and child is most common, CRI Paternity can verify the relationship between ANY alleged relatives (mother, siblings, grand-parents, etc). The more family members tested, the more accurate your results. CRI Paternity DNA tests can be used regardless of the sex or the alleged relationship.
Even for legal paternity tests, a sample from the mother is not required. Yet, it can be useful. With the mother’s participation, CRI Paternity testing lab will be able to determine which half of your child’s DNA was contributed by his mother. Therefore, the remaining DNA must then match yours for you to be the biological father.
CRI Paternity collects the samples via cheek swabs.
If you chose a home-test, you will receive 2 buccal swabs per person tested. Gently rub 1 swab on the inside of your cheek to gather cells (15-20 seconds), detach its tip into the matching vial before repeating the operation with your other cheek. Then enclose both vial in the matching sample collection bag (make sure all the barcodes match).
If you chose a legal test, then a CRI Paternity customer service representative will call you to book your DNA collection appointment, within 24 hours of your order. On the day of your appointment, bring the adults’ photo ID (driver’s license or passport) and your child’s birth certificate and a recent photograph. A DNA specialist will collect your DNA samples by gentlyrubbing the inside of your cheeks at the collection site. He will then send your samples and chain-of-custody paperwork directly to CRI Paternity testing lab.
Buccal swabs and blood samples provide results with the same degree of accuracy. We chose buccal swabs for our Paternity DNA tests because they are the easiest and less invasive way to collect your DNA.
Once your results are ready, you will receive an email asking you to log in your online portal. You can also check the status of your analysis anytime you want. If you chose the legal option, you can request a hard-copy of your results. We can mail it to you or directly to your lawyer or social worker.
To be considered legal, a paternity DNA test has to follow the Chain of Custody requested by the court of law. This procedure is often more expensive and complicated.
CRI Paternity offers both a non-legal test that is not intended for use in legal matters, but for your personal information only, and a court-admissible test.
The non-legal test is an affordable at-home test that you can do anytime, in a matter of minutes. The legal test will require for you to go to a partner lab—we have over 1,000 in the USA to facilitate your testing—and they will do everything for you.
DNA paternity testing is considered a non-medical test. Thus it is not covered by health insurance plans.
